SBE settles claims against Progressive Insurance

SBE attorney Howard Shernoff brought his multi-plaintiff lawsuit against Progressive Insurance Company to a successful close via a confidential settlement with the insurer. Shernoff represented seven Progressive insureds, all of whom had been victimized by auto or motorcycle thefts and then submitted claims to Progressive.

The lawsuit alleged that Progressive conducted “Inquisition-style” claim investigations and demanded a laundry list of irrelevant and private materials from claimants. The settlement resolved all legal claims of the lawsuit, which included bad faith, invasion of privacy and unfair business practices.
