William M. Shernoff founded Shernoff Bidart Echeverria LLP over 40 years ago, and pioneered one of the only torts in the 20th century – insurance bad faith.
The Beverly Hills Bar Association honored Mr. Shernoff with the Excellency in Advocacy Award on February 22, 2017 to recognized the amazing and long lasting contributions he has made to the law and to consumers.
The Los Angeles Daily Journal ran a story that analyzed Mr. Shernoff’s career, some of his more memorable cases and the award itself. In it, he discusses Egan v. Mutual of Omaha (the first bad faith case), his relationship with Ralph Nader, some foresight into the Trump Administration’s impact on insurance regulation and more.
