Law360 highlights firm successes
Law360, an online outlet for legal news, discussed two firm victories, one against Blue Cross and another in the ongoing MGA/Bratz litigation.
In an article on two lawsuits against Blue Cross (Eric Taub v. Blue Cross of California, case number BC457809; and Janet Kassouf et al. v. Blue Cross of California, case number BC473408), the publication reported the following:
“A California state judge Friday refused to trim a putative class action accusing Anthem Blue Cross of using “bait and switch” strategies to increase annual deductibles and premiums, ruling that the plaintiffs adequately pled that health plans are services recognized by the state’s Consumer Legal Remedies Act.”
In the story on the MGA litigation (Lexington Insurance Co. et al. v. MGA Entertainment Inc., case number 1:12-cv-03677) it reported:
“A New York federal judge reiterated Thursday that Chartis Specialty Insurance Co. and others must cover MGA Entertainment Inc. in a failed suit alleging it stole the idea for its Bratz dolls, saying allegedly stolen Bratz sketches weren’t first published outside the policy period.”
