Michael Bidart Recognized by Best Lawyer as a 2024 “Lawyer of the Year”
Shernoff Bidart Echeverria managing partner, Michael Bidart, was recognized by Best Lawyers as a 2024 Inland Empire Insurance Law “Lawyer of the Year” for the fifth time.
Michael Bidart is a preeminent consumer attorney and has made a major impact on California’s health care system. He leads the firm’s HMO Litigation and Property/Casualty Departments and has successfully developed the firm’s health insurance practice by prosecuting bad faith disputes involving insurers as well as HMOs.
Beginning in 2014, then in the years 2017, 2021, 2023, and now in 2024, Mr. Bidart has been recognized by Best Lawyers as “Lawyer of the Year” in Inland Empire Insurance Law. The recognition highlights one attorney in a particular location and practice area who received the highest votes from their peers in a given year. Best Lawyers uses the philosophy “we believe the best lawyers know who the best lawyers are.” Being selected by Best Lawyer is a distinguishable honor in the legal community due to its long established history of featuring the nation’s most credible and impactful attorneys.

Mr. Bidart has been recognized by other well known publications in the past few years such as being named a Super Lawyer by Law & Politics Magazine every year since 2004 and as a Super Lawyer Top 100 Attorney every year since 2004 as well. In 2019, he was named a Top Healthcare Attorney in California by the Los Angeles Daily Journal, among many other notable honors. The Wall Street Journal has noted Mr. Bidart’s success in health care litigation, specifying that he helped reignite the debate in Congress discussing whether patients should have the right to sue their health plans.
