Travis Corby Highlighted in NBC Piece on Bad Faith
Travis Corby, partner at Shernoff Bidart Echeverria LLP, filed a lawsuit on behalf of a man who claims he and other California consumers are being priced out of their life insurance policies once they become disabled.
In the plaintiff’s policy, there is a rider which states he is eligible to have his premiums waved if he becomes disabled, and after he lost his job as a senior construction inspector for the city of Anaheim The Hartford agreed he was disabled. However, later that same year The Hartford then changed its story and denied him the benefit in clear violation of California law.
The Hartford class action lawsuit, filed in conjunction with Consumer Watchdog is Keith Laster et al. v. Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company, Los Angeles Superior Court, Case No. BC645326. To see the Consumer Watchdog complaint, click here: Class Action Lawsuit Against The Hartford.
